7-Day Machame Trek

7-Day Machame Trek

Tanzania · East Africa 7 days · 6 nights

Once championed as a "wilderness route" for climbers, Machame has grown significantly in popularity over recent years. Boasting a highly accessible trailhead, it has earned a reputation as the most scenic trail on Mount Kilimanjaro. Climbers consistently praise its sweeping views across the Maasai Steppe toward Mt. Meru, as well as the impressive Barranco Valley. While this rise in popularity has somewhat diminished its former solitude, the descent route remains distinct from the ascent, meaning hikers generally only notice the crowd size upon reaching their evening campsites.
